Interior Waterproofing
In certain situations, it might not be feasible or cost effective to externally waterproof your property. At Roto-Rooter Plumbing, Drain and Waterproofing Services we are aware of the obstacles that you face and as such we offer interior waterproofing services. This will avoid the expense of excavating and restoring your property that is commonly found with external waterproofing (ie. Landscaping, driveway, sidewalks etc…).
Your interior waterproofing job requires removing a portion of your concrete floor where it meets the interior basement wall. This is done so that our team of professionals can install weeping tile drains that will collect any unwanted water that enters your basement.
Our Roto-Rooter professionals will then install a plastic polyethylene membrane to the inside wall of your home to protect your basement from water damage. This membrane will collect water between itself and the existing wall. As the water collects, it will run down the inside of the membrane towards the weeping tile drainage system.
The weeping tile is installed and wrapped in a cloth sheath to keep dirt out but allow water in. When unwanted water enters the basement, it trickles down along the plastic membrane towards the weeping tile. The piping then directs the water towards the existing plumbing system for removal.
Once the weeping tile piping is installed, limestone is placed around the piping to allow for water to successfully percolate downwards. The stone is backfilled just below the basement floor. Any water that comes through the foundation wall will be caught immediately and sent towards the existing plumbing infrastructure.
Our waterproofing professionals will attached the weeping tile to the existing plumbing system to allow the water to leave your premises. If the existing plumbing system is too far from the newly installed weeping tile, a submergible pump will need to be fitted so that the water is pumped out into the existing drainage system.
After the weeping tile is connected to the plumbing system and the stone is graded over top, our waterproofing professionals will re-cement the floor. When contacting a Roto-Rooter waterproofing professional, you can ensure that the job will be efficient, safe, clean, and to your standards.
